Digital City Awards 2021 

Essential information 

  • To submit entries for the Digital City Awards 2021, please register for access to the entry portal. The portal will take you through the process of entering step by step, and allow you to save progress on your entry to return to and complete later.
  • Entries should relate to work undertaken between August 2020— January 2021.
  • Each individual entry must not exceed 1,000 words.
  • Within the portal, you can add two pieces of supporting evidence per entry (each attachment must be under 2MB). Please ensure all key information is included in the entry itself; supporting evidence should be additional.
  • You can submit the same work into multiple categories if relevant — duplicating entries within the portal is simple.

Entry fees

Early Bird entries: Early Bird entries (submitted by 23:59 on January 31st 2021) will be charged an administration fee of £150 + VAT per entry.

Standard entries: Entries made after January 31st 2021 will be charged an administration fee of £200 + VAT per entry. The final entry deadline is February 19th 2021. To discuss further extensions, please contact the team on hello@digitalcityfestival.com.

Discounts for multiple entries: All organisations who submit two entries will receive an additional free entry.

Free entries: All entries submitted for the Best Use of Technology — Not-for-Profit Award are free of charge. Use discount code NFP in the awards portal.

Judging criteria

Judges will read and pre-score all entry forms, considering any supporting materials submitted. Judges will be asked to give a score for each question within the entry form, as listed in the bullet points below. These will be combined to give an overall score for each entry. All judges’ pre-scores will then be combined and the highest scoring entries will determine the shortlists.

Judges will meet to discuss the highest scoring entries and then agree the winner for each category. 

INNOVATION / PROJECT / PLATFORM AWARDS 

The judges will be looking for a clear description of an outstanding project, innovation or platform. Judges will also consider the structure, presentation and clarity of each entry.

Each entry must include information under the following headings:

  • Overview of the project, innovation or event;
  • Total budget;
  • Implementation & creativity;
  • Results & evaluation;
  • Why you think your entry should win.

TEAM / BUSINESS AWARDS 

Judges will be looking for teams and businesses that can demonstrate an ongoing and sustained commitment to delivering best practice while showing a creative and innovative approach to digital. Judges will also consider the structure, presentation and clarity of each entry. 

Each entry must include information under the following headings:

  • Details of the team / company;
  • Team / company objectives;
  • Recent achievements;
  • Challenges;
  • Why you think your entry should win.
